The terminal box is also called the optical cable terminal box. It has the function of fixing and welding the optical cable, and plays the role of terminal connection and connecting the optical cable. It is used to realize the link between the optical cable and the pigtail. With the development of production technology brought about by the development of science and technology, the terminal box has developed from a single general-purpose optical cable terminal box to a wall-mounted terminal box and a rack-mounted terminal box. Moreover, judging from the current use demand situation, the style and structure of the terminal box are also changing. There are generally four basic functions of the terminal box.
1. Fixing function. After the optical cable enters the rack, the outer sheath and strengthening core must be mechanically fixed, the ground wire protection component should be installed, the end protection treatment should be carried out, and the optical fibers should be grouped and protected.
2. With the function of receiving and connecting, after the optical fiber drawn from the optical cable is fused with the tail cable, the excess optical fiber is coiled and stored, and the fusion joint is protected.
3. Deployment function, insert the connector on the tail cable into the adapter, and realize the optical connection with the optical connector on the other side of the adapter. Adapters and connectors should be able to be plugged and pulled flexibly; the optical path can be freely deployed and tested.
4. The storage function provides storage for various cross-connected optical cables between the racks, so that they can be placed neatly and orderly.
The internal structure of the terminal box should be reasonable, able to accommodate the connected optical cables, and ensure clear routing, easy adjustment, and allow a small bending radius to accommodate space requirements.
