Installation Process

I. Preparation

  1. Before installation, check the model, number of optical fibers, and accessories of the fiber optic splice closure.
  2. Before installation, keep all accessories dry and clean.
  3. Maintain a clean (dry and dust-free) and flat working environment.
  4. The installation process must use standard equipment and tools.

 

II. Fiber Cable Handling

  1. Strip the outer sheath of the fiber cable to a length of 1.2 meters; do not cut the fiber cable at 0.5 meters or 1.5 meters (see Figure 3).
  2. Cut the fiber cable's strength member to a length of 5 centimeters.

Notes: ① The fiber optic is not damaged. ② If the fiber optic is damaged, the damaged portion must be cut off, and a new fiber optic should be stripped.

 

III. Installation Process Instructions

  1. Prepare a cut fiber cable.
  2. Use a crosshead screwdriver to loosen the fixing screws of the closure.
  3. Open the product and use a screwdriver to loosen the fixing screws of the fiber cable clamp.
  4. Place the cut fiber cable into the box, secure the strength member and fiber cable clamp, fasten the remaining fiber optic using zip ties and neatly coil it inside the box. Introduce the fiber optic into the fusion splicer holder and wait for fusion splicing with the splitter input end.
  5. Fuse the fiber optic with the splitter input end, and insert the output end of the splitter into the connector.
  6. After fusion splicing is completed, align the pigtail fiber with the connector, use a quick connector, and insert the assembly into the connector housing.

 

IV. Box Sealing

  1. The installation of the fiber optic storage tray should be neat, and the fiber routing bend radius should meet the requirements.
  2. Internal fasteners should be tightened.
  3. The amount of sealing tape should be reasonable.
  4. The sealing strip should be placed flatly in the corresponding slot of the splice closure.
